Good boys!

Preserving history

Rebecca honed her fundraising skills in 2006 as the chair of St. Paul's Centennial Campaign - a celebration of the church's landmark anniversary, and an effort to raise the monies needed to restore a 100-year-old granite building. More about St. Paul.
Speaking for Atlanta's future

A League of its own

Voting, as Thomas Paine so eloquently put it, ''is the right upon which all other rights depend.''

By embracing this philosophy and advancing voter engagement and participation, the League of Women Voters of Georgia makes valuable contributions to safeguarding our democracy.
Urban revitalization and renewal is something Rebecca is passionate about, and she lives it everyday in Grant Park where she and her husband work to help improve the neighborhood through involvement at St. Paul United Methodist Church. As a communications and public policy consultant, she hopes that her work with vital projects in the Atlanta area will help spur economic and community development that her children will one day enjoy.

A series of high-level public relations positions in both state government and the private sector led Rebecca to her position at Ahmann, where she provides strategic communications counsel to economic development organizations and initiatives and industry leaders in the development community. For Rebecca, consulting for a variety of both private-sector and public-sector clients has been a way to continue building a career devoted to growing Georgia’s economy.

Over that 12-year career, Rebecca has developed and led communications strategies for numerous economic development organizations, including the Atlanta Committee for Progress, local chambers of commerce and state and regional economic development associations. Her four-year tenure at a public affairs agency in Atlanta refined her expertise in the issue areas of transportation, affordable housing and quality growth through public-private initiatives such as the Metro Atlanta Quality Growth Task Force and the BeltLine.

Prior to her agency experience, including a stint at the international public relations firm Manning, Selvage and Lee, Rebecca was the Communications Director for what is now the Georgia Department of Economic Development. There she served on the media relations team for Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta, launched several key initiatives to the public including the department’s regional program, and conducted several industry media tours throughout the state. She was responsible for all the department’s media relations and external publications and provided marketing support to the public policy, economic development and international trade divisions.

Rebecca has a bachelor's degree in English literature from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and a master's degree in mass communication from the University of Georgia. Her community involvement reflects her professional commitment to Georgia’s future. A graduate of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute, she is President of the League of Women Voters of Georgia and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Livable Communities Coalition. Rebecca is also a member of the Atlanta Press Club, Civic League for Regional Atlanta, Grant Park Parent Network and Grant Park Neighborhood Association.
