Dawn has learned the hard way that she cannot necessarily transfer her organizational skills from office to home. When it comes to raising three sons, even the most well-thought-out plans always “go awry.” No matter how hard you plan an eight-year old’s birthday party, or a high-schooler’s prom party, your agenda will not stay on course!
Fortunate that there was not a language barrier as all staff members were fluent in English, Dawn was charged with developing and implementing a program to train the administrative staff for the first and largest mixed-use development in Shanghai, China in 1994.
On the job, Dawn worked for a client that did “Peak Performer Profiling” for a leading real estate brokerage company. With a long-standing interest in real estate, Dawn compared her profile to “peak performers” and had a 94 percent similarity. Within six weeks she got her Georgia Real Estate Salesperson license and today continues to help people buy and sell their homes.

As Executive Assistant to John Ahmann, Dawn brings to the company nearly two decades of administrative experience. She began her administrative career in 1986 at Portman Overseas, the international division of Portman Holdings. During her 15 years at Portman, she expanded her administrative duties to include office management and administrative training.
Helping to meet the need to further build Portman’s corporate administrative team, she planned and developed several administrative retreats and implemented an administrative training program for local Chinese staff in the company’s international development in Shanghai, China.
Dawn has also worked in the travel industry as a client services representative for a top 25 Atlanta corporate travel firm, and as an executive assistant for a corporate talent management firm. Additionally, she is a licensed Realtor® in Georgia and Alabama.
Away from Ahmann, Dawn enjoys scrapbooking, reading and just being outdoors.
